All my tours offer great wines, and crowd-free tastings, but on this tour, we take both aspects to a higher level. I’ve designed my Ultra-premium Wines of Tuscany Tour so that not only will you enjoy some of Tuscany’s most revered wines but also be able to contemplate them in the most relaxed and panoramic surroundings.
Added to private travel, you’ll be enjoying seated tastings and the quieter environments of the VIP tasting rooms at both wineries.
Of course, we’ll be visiting producers of ultra-premium wines ($30 – $90 price range) which will include Dry Rosés, Chianti, Chianti Reserves and Super Tuscans, all of which are of great finesse and complexity. You will also be introduced to genuine Extra Virgin Oli Oil.
I’ve been doing wine tours for eighteen years and the estates I’ve picked for this tour are those that in my opinion offer the highest expression of the Chianti region. But more importantly, they’re also held in the highest regard by the local sommelier’s associations. An added bonus is that both wineries have gorgeous surrondings, and will offer everything you’d expect from a Tuscan landscape.
Your two-course lunch comprising of a charcuterie, cheese and bruschetta platter, plus and a pasta or rice dish will be at one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant specializes in Tuscan Cuisine, and I care to point out it’s a favorite with the locals too. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten free are available on request.
Last but certainly not least, we’ll be taking a leisurely drive through the Tuscan countryside. The drive will include stops for photos and contemplation of the iconic Tuscan scenery, with explanations on the history and agriculture of the Chianti region.

Your ultra-premium wines of Tuscany tour: what to expect
We’ll be received in the quieter VIP tasting rooms of two family wineries where you’ll enjoy seated tastings plus personalized turs of the cellars. Of course, you can expect some of the best wines the Chianti region has to offer. Both estates boast the services of Italy’s most sought after wine makers, ideal growing conditions, and many years of wine making know how. Last but certainly not least, is their pursuit of perfection through fanatical attention to the smallest of details. This is something which will become very evident during your tour of the cellars.
Ultra Premium Wines
This all results in ultra-premium wines that are the epitome of elegance, finesse, and complexity. Despite the above characteristics, we won’t be visiting any big names. I’ll be taking you to “less famous estates” with smaller productions that you won’t find readily in stores or supermarkets.
As you’ll be tasting a total of approx. nine wines ($30 – $90 price range) we’ll have extended time at each estate. This is to give you time to reset your taste buds between each glass, and above all, give you time to appreciate the experience without being rushed. Our visit to each estate lasts about two hours.
Two course light lunch
Our family run restaurant located in the Chianti village of Panzano is a favorite with the locals, and not “just tourists.” They excell in Tuscan cuisine which is prepared in respect of traditional recipies. You will enjoy a starter dish of your choice consisting of cured meats (prosciutto, finocchiona), Pecorino cheese, and various types of crostini topped with pâtés or seasonal vegetables. This will be followed by a pasta or rice dish witth meat or vegetble base sausce. Vegetarian and Gluten free options are also available.
Scenic Tour of Chianti
Chianti is one of the world’s most beautiful rural areas, so an important part of the day will be dedicated to a leisurely drive of the iconic landscapes. I’ll explain the countryside from an agricultural and historic point of view, and we’ll also make a number of stops for photos and contemplation.
My Ultra-Premium Wines of Tuscany Tour may seem a day for aficionados, but it’s very much open to everyone. If you love good food and premium wines, even on a casual basis…you’ve qualified. However if you’d prefer something a little less costly, but you’d still like to taste excellent wines, I suggest you look up my Wine Lover’s Special.
Our Tuscany wine tour will take us to two of the following wineries
At the very heart of Tuscany, Casa Emma continues a proud winemaking heritage in the prestigious appellation of Chianti Classico D.O.C.G. Surrounded by natural beauty with dreamy landscapes, splendid sunsets with timeless views and atmosphere, Casa Emma is a place with a lively and dynamic history rooted in the centennial tradition of Chianti Classico, and a reputation for sophisticated wines showing elegance and complexity.is a small gem that captures all of Tuscany’s beauty.
HANDWORK AND HARVEST
To preserve the vines and guarantee excellent fruits, almost all the operations in the vineyards are carried out manually.
ORGANIC FARMING
Casa Emma follows biodynamic and organic viticulture principles. The vineyards are treated with natural methods, without using pesticides or phytosanitary products. Only natural composts are used all of which are produced 0n the farm.
Tenuta degli Dei is an estate to which Tommaso Cavalli and his father Roberto have devoted thirty years of intensive work. The estate is located in the village of San Leolino, near Panzano in Chianti, and the vineyards have been planted in the Golden valley, which thanks to its soil and exposure to sunlight, is perfect for viticulture.
From the beginning Tommaso had the production of ultra-premium wines as his objective, and the first step is in how you cultivate the grapes. Simply put, if you have good grapes, you’re half way there to making good wine. This is the only path that leads to producing premium wines and excellence. He has introduced innovative ideas and sustainable methods, and all carried out with passion and commitment.
Tenuta degli Dei produces wines of elegance that are a perfect balance between modernity and Tuscan traditions. Not “just” wine…Tommaso Cavalli produces spirits of prime quality that are recognized and distributed worldwide. All gin and vodka lovers will be amazed. ginarte-drygin.com
Carobbio is located in the Golden Valley of Panzano in Chianti, which is considered on of the best growing areas of all Chianti. A privileged geographical position, between 350 and 450 meters that brings a remarkable thermal excursion between day and night, essential to obtain wines with intense and elegant aromas.
The vines are cultivated according to the most advanced viticultural trends. This mwans high density vineyards and a minimal number of clusters per plant. Harvesting is strictly manual to prevent damage before the grapes reach the cellars. This also permits the pre selection of the best clusters for the top wines.
The excellence of Carobbio’s ultra-premium wines is the result of a rigorous project. Each vineyard has a specific role, and every action is a precise choice.
FAQ in brief
Can I Buy Wine?
Yes of course, door to door shipping is available. Price lists are placed on the table for your information, but there is no implied obligation.
What is Chianti?
Chianti is a strictly regulated appellation wine. It can only be produced in central Tuscany within defined geographical boundaries. The grapes from which it’s made, aging periods, and even the flavor profile are regulated.
What’s the Difference Between Chianti & Chianti Classico?
The Chianti production area has been expanded over the years, and it’s fairly large. Chianti Classico is the wine that’s made entirely in the original and much smaller historic production zone. The wines that come from the added on zones are “just” called Chianti.
What is a Super Tuscan?
Super Tuscans are a creative approach to wine making. You might like to consider them designer wines. Apart from defining the geographic area where the grapes are grown, and where the wine is made, there are few rules. There is however an underlying concept which all reputable estates adhere to, and that’s the quest for the highest quality possible. The flavor profile tends to lean towards international tastes, and the grapes tend to be Cabernet, Merlot & Syrah.
