Brunello Wine Promotion

Brunello Virtual  Wine Tasting Promotion

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the three appellation wines, based on the Sangiovese grape in Tuscany. The other two being Chianti and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Brunello is without doubt the finest of the three, and rightly considered one the world’s most prestigious wines. Brunello is known for its elegant yet concentrated fruits,  and powerful structured style. A great wine to drink as soon as it’s put on sale, and just supreme after a few more years in the cellar. This is especially true of the Riservas.

Brunello’s balance of earthy autumn flavours, with fine plentiful tannins and Sangiovese’s typical high acidity makes it the perfect choice for the dinner table…the place where the traditional wines from Tuscany all belong.

Brunello Pricing

Being so prestigious and sought after, means the price of Brunello is significantly higher than for it’s close cousins from Chianti and Montepulciano, but there are good reasons. The production disciplinary strictly limits the amount of wine that a plant/vineyard can produce (yield). This is done through heavy pruning of the clusters in spring, so those that remain get more nourishment from the vine. The amount of must (juice) you can squeeze out of the grapes is also limited. Then it has to be aged in oak barrels for at least two years, followed by two years six months in the vat, and yet another four months in the bottle. The total time before it can be put on sale is five years. In the case of the Reserves which are made only from the estate’s finest grapes, this becomes six years.

Very few wines in the world have such rigorous production criteria, but the resulting product is superlative, making it a wine for special occasions. Also because of the limited yields and the tiny production zone, Brunello can sometimes be hard to find.

However read on, because I’ve reached an agreement with one of my (and my client’s) favorite wineries. Namely Corte dei Venti and the owner Clara Monaci who is a producer of one of the the finest Brunellos. Don’t take my word for it, see what the press say here.

As a private Tuscany wine tour is currently out of the question, we’ve thought of a way round the problem. Namely a virtual wine tasting via Zoom conference videos. Subsequently if you’re interested, it’s possible to place an order at significantly discounted prices.

Discounted prices are only available to my former clients & can be found in the PDF attached to the invitation email.

Virtual Wine Tasting (how it works)

Step 1. Send an email to info@cortedeiventi.com requesting the sample case for “Sergio’s virtual wine tasting.” Include your credit card details, and the address you want the wine shipped to.

The case will include:

1 bottle of Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G.
2015 vintage (75cl standard bottle)

1 bottle of Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C.
(75cl standard bottle)

1 bottle of Sant’Antimo D.O.C.
(75cl standard bottle)

1 bottle of Silvana I.G.T
(75cl standard bottle)

1 bottle of extra virgin olive oil
(0,25 cl bottle)

The price of the case is quoted in your invitation email

Step 2. We will send you an invitation for a Zoom conference wine tasting session. Once on line you will be in contact with the winery’s staff, who will guide you through the tasting. There will also be a small number of fellow wine lovers (all my past guests), and we’ll be putting the wines you received in the sample case to the test. Of course you will be able to speak with your host and the other guests.

There will of course be a number of different sessions, to accommodate differing time zones and your availability. The sessions are programmed to be from the 22nd to the 30th of November. However your attendance is entirely optional.

What can I do with the wine left over after the tasting? Due to their high acidity and tannin content, all our wines will keep in the bottle for five days. Nothing special is needed, just put in the cork, and store at no more than 68°F/20°c which is room temperature.

How Can I Order My Discounted Wine?

Step 3.  Prices can be found in the PDF attached to the invitation mail. You can order bottles of the same wines from your sample (plus Brunello Reserve 2015 vintage & Brunello 2016 vintage), at the very advantageous prices Corte dei Venti have made available to my clients.

Just send another mail to info@cortedeiventi.com (If possible use the same thread of your previous email) with the quantities you require.

Corte di Venti will reply listing your order, and ask you to confirm it responds to your request. Only when you give the OK will you card be charged, and your wines will arrive in 15/20 days.
