Venice to Florence Transfer via Ferrara
Available in both directions and for other destinations in Tuscany

Transfer Venice - Florence with en route tour of the bicycle town of Ferrara
• Two hour stop and free time to tour Ferrara
• Total travel and tour time approx six hours
• Pick up and drop off at Venice taxi park and hotel in Florence

Ferrara is a city in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, at about an hour's travel from Venice. It is now on UNESCO's World Heritage list, and for three centuries was ruled by the Este family, whose Renaissance court was among the finest in Italy.

The historical centre is the living heart of the city where people meet to have a drink, go shopping or go for a bicycle ride. In fact Ferrara is a town of bicycles where you can ride in the quite streets without the fear of traffic.

Well worth seeing are the impressive castle of the Este family, the Romanesque and Gothic Cathedral, the Town Theatre, and the ancient walls which are still intact.

Due to the absence of traffic, Ferrara is also a joy to visit on foot; relax and take in the sites without the hustle and bustle of modern day motors. You may also like to do some shopping in the elegant shops which tend to sell high quality clothing and footwear.

Then if you want a bite to eat, there are numerous small restaurants and bars dotted around the central cathedral area, offering a range of pasta, pizza and lighter snack options. On a Sunday afternoon the streets fill with the local folk "Ferraresi" enjoying their passeggiata, and most of them seemed to spill into the bustling interior of the Bar Leon d'Oro to chat over hot drinks. Sitting at a table here isn't cheap but the biscuits, pastries and atmosphere are great.

Please note: by Italian law, driver guides are not allowed to accompany clients or do historical guiding of monuments & city sights. Therefore your visit to Ferrara is done in free time. However I remain close at hand should you have any needs.
